Dec 18th 2007 Golf Accessories Don’t Have to Cost a Fortune

Golf is rarely a cheap sport. Buying membership to a course will put quite a large dent in your pocket, and will have to be renewed at some time in the future. The golf clubs themselves can cost a small fortune. However, nobody ever said that the accessories had to be expensive. It is possible to get all of the golf accessories that you could ever need for very cheap, or even for free if you get lucky. Read on to find out about where to look for the cheapest golf accessories, and how you can make sure that you never overpay again for something that you can buy for cheaper elsewhere.

Auctions, especially estate auctions, are great places to go for golf equipment. You will be able to get a detailed description of the item before bidding begins, and possibly see it with your own eyes and test it out for a bit. Once the auction starts you will be faced with some competition almost certainly if the item is desirable (other people know to look at auctions too! This information is not exclusive). Be prepared to pay what it is worth, whether this is below the suggested retail price or not. If you win the item and you ended up paying less than you would have at the store, then be proud of yourself – auctions can be challenging places for many people.

Real world auctions aren’t the only ones that offer cheap items. EBay, the world’s most popular auction site, has a number of golf accessories that would be hard to find otherwise. If you are an experienced eBay bidder then you already know how the whole system works. You punch in your highest bid, and simply wait to see if anybody else is going to bid higher. If someone outbids you then you may find out that your highest bid wasn’t actually your highest bid, and you’ll increase it just to try for a second chance at the item. This is how the bidding wars start. It can be tempting to keep bidding higher and higher, until the final cost after shipping would be higher than retail. Never let this happen. If it gets close, just quit and go buy the item in the store.

Yard sales are another good place to look for people’s old golf equipment that they no longer want. Yard sales often offer the cheapest prices you could ask for, and most of the time the person setting the prices has no idea about the worth of the item (which can work for you or against you). If you watch the newspapers for yard sale times, you will start to notice patterns in the time as well as the geographical location. Just establish a route that you can follow every week to look for yard sales.

Golf accessories are hard to find for cheap, but not impossible. You can simply establish a routine that you will follow every  week or so. Check all of the online stores, all of the yard sales, and any other venues that you may have in mind. This way, when someone decides to sell their golf accessories you will be the first one there to buy them.

Dec 8th 2007 Golf at a Discount – Golf Clubs Can Be a Bargain

Many of us love the idea of taking up the game of golf but few of us like the idea of making a big investment in the activity. Fortunately, discount golf clubs are available to anyone interested in getting started in this favorite pastime. You can find everything you need from sets to accessories at pretty low prices if you shop carefully.

There are a handful of options to consider when shopping for discount golf clubs. First of all, you want to make a decision on whether or not used items are appropriate for you. Some of us have no problem using second-hand sporting goods but others are a little fussy about this kind of thing.

Discount golf clubs don’t have to be second hand but you may want to give this option a thought, at least. Many people wind up selling their sporting equipment for a fraction of their retail value. There are plenty of cases in which the items were never actually used at all. The discount golf clubs may not be new but they are pretty close.

Other times, used equipment is simply unacceptable. Many people who resell their stuff expect a lot of money for relatively little product. Sometimes it is better to simply look for new discount golf clubs rather than looking for second hand goods that are in outstanding condition (and at a reasonable price).

I ran into a great deal at my local flea market. There was a fantastic set of Ping golf clubs for sale and right next to them was a single Big Bertha. After talking with the salesperson for a few moments we agreed on a sweet deal that still has me smiling to this day.

However, this deal was a really rare occurrence. I don’t think that there are many items like this for sale and if there are, it may take you way too much time to find them. Instead of taking too much time and effort to find discount golf clubs through the second hand route, you can find a great deal right on the Internet.

There are plenty of sites that offer brand new discount golf clubs for customers to enjoy. You definitely don’t have to spend too much time shopping. In fact, you can find a great set without even leaving the house.

Whether you are an avid golfer or you just want to give the sport a fair chance, there are plenty of discount golf clubs available to help you get started without costing too much.

Dec 1st 2007 Enjoying a Backyard Putting Green

A backyard putting green is any golfer’s dream come true. What better way to spend a relaxing evening than practicing your putt? There are some options available and many fantastic ideas for this backyard game. Adding this feature to your landscape is a great way to improve your outdoor space.

You may be tempted to take the do-it-yourself approach to this kind of project. This is fine for those who have a lot of experience working with landscape design but most of us don’t fall into that category. After all, if a backyard putting green were simple to install, we would all have one.

Of course, I don’t want to caution you to take on an expensive project when you can do some of the work yourself. However, I have seen many landscaping projects fall apart. This can be very costly. Consulting a professional is the best approach to this venture.

The first thing you want to consider is your overall landscape design. If you have a lot of hills and bumps then you have your work cut out for you. This is not to suggest that a putting green in your backyard is out of the question, though. You’re just going to have to move some earth to get things organized for the project.

Next come the materials used to get the job done. Are you interested in a grass putting green that grows naturally? Maybe you prefer artificial turf. Do you want the green to be used indoors as well as outside? You are going to use different materials for different greens.

I like to keep things simple. Instead of trying to work out my own design for our yard, I decided to go with a reputable company. The company that I chose offered a synthetic backyard putting green that can be used indoors and outdoors. The sturdy material is ideal for both environments.

The company also implemented a design that is quite similar to a real golf course. I was amazed when I first stepped on my backyard putting green. I felt as if I had just stepped onto the green on my favorite links. Even though the material is synthetic, it feels just like real grass.

My backyard putting green has helped me improve my game. I also love the idea of playing a little golf after a long day at the office. This backyard feature is way more valuable to me than a pool or hot tub.
